Accrediation
At the University of Utah I am studying and majoring in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. This department was the first academic curriculum to be granted accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT). COAPRT is the only council in the PRT field accepted by the Council For Higher Education Accreditation. COAPRT was designed to ensure that all graduate students are prepared for successful careers in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. All courses include applicable standards for their comparable assessment standards.

So far in my education I have completed the 7.01 and 7.02 standards. In my fall semester of 2013 I was enrolled in the PRT Integrated Core (IC). As a final project of our we had to put on an event event in we created the event program. This program was open to everyone and we made the entry price low entry to comply to those with a lower socio-economic status.
Furthermore, while enrolled in the IC we learned about the foundation of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism and all the awesome opportunities than can come out of this field. Also, one of the learning outcome of the Integrated Core was, "Students graduating from the program shall demonstrate entry-level knowledge of the foundation of the profession in philosophy," which complies with standard 7.01.
